CROSSTALK VIDEO ART FESTIVAL 2011

The 2011 4th edition of Crosstalk Video Art Festival Budapest will be presented at a new location downtown at Gozsdu Courtyard. Over the past three years, the Crosstalk video art project (which features the annual festival plus monthly presentations by distinguished media artists) has become an important exhibition platform.

Through an open international competition, as well as by invitation, the organizing committee selected videos from more than 400 applications. In the Gozsdu Court C, at the main exhibition hall, screenings of the major selected works will be presented in three thematic blocks. Two additional sections will also be on show: selected video works by students from the Department of Intermedia MKE and MOME Universities and works dealing with video documentation.

At the other festival site (court B) a theoretical discourse will be taking place in form of lectures and panel discussions.

This year’s edition of the Crosstalk Video Art Festival focuses on ‘documentation’ as a genre and form of video art.

On Sunday afternoon an award-giving ceremony closes the three-day festival.

The Crosstalk Video Art Festival was initiated by Adrien Török in 2006 and since then has continued to develop and raise awareness of the diversity and uniqueness of video as an art form.
